Refresh folders when ⌘-tabbing back to ZenOS

When you open a folder in ZenOS, then go to another application and create or delete a file in the same folder, then switch back to ZenOS, it doesn't detect this change. It would be useful if ZenOS refreshed its displayed folder(s) whenever the user switches back to it.

A color scheme using system colors

Would it be possible to create a color scheme which uses the standard system colors? So that ZenOS wouldn't look like an alien intruder among the other applications?

Reverse arrow when sorting by date

When sorting by date, and "ascending" arrow is displayed when the descending sort is used and vice-versa.

Middle-click should close tabs

Other applications with tabs usually allow you to close a tab by clicking it with the middle mouse button. It would be nice if ZenOS did the same.

How to reproduce:

"New folder" dialog can miss keypresses

When you press F7 to create a new folder and start typing the folder name immediately, the first few letters will not be registered by the dialog (probably because its opening animation is not finished yet).

Soft-link to folder is interpreted as file

Soft-link to folder is displayed among files, not folders. And when you try to enter it (using <Enter>), it opens the folder in Finder instead of opening it inside ZenOS.

Compute folder size

It should be possible to compute a folder size. For example the way it's implemented in Total Commander: <Ins> selects a folder, <Space> selects the folder and computes its size.

Sort folders and files separately

When sorting by name or size, folders are displayed first, then files. When sorting by time or attributes, files and folders are mixed. This is somewhat inconsistent. It would be nice to at least be able to choose whether you want the files and folders separated or not.

File search in selected files/folders only

File search dialog should display two separate fields - one for searching file names, one for searching file contents. File name/content search would then be performed based on which fields are filled. (Ideally the file name field should be focused by default, as that's most compatible with other file commanders.)

Esc should cancel changes in the folder path field

When you enter the folder path field (at the top of the screen) and make some changes, it should be possible to exit the box without applying those changes, for example by pressing escape. In fact it might be better to only apply the changes on enter and discard them in every other case (like leaving the box by pressing tab or clicking inside the file panel).

Wrong item selected when moving to the parent directory

How to reproduce:

go to a folder with some subfolders
enter the top-most subfolder
press backspace to go back to the parent folder
the ".." item is now selected instead of the subfolder you just returned from

This only happens with the top-most subfolder and might be related to the "Select first item after folder is listed" preference (unchecked).

"Show Sidebar" status should be persistent

When I hide the sidebar, ZenOS should remember my preference and hide the sidebar automatically the next time I start the application.

It would be nice if repeatedly pressing F2 switched between highlighting the filename without extension and the filename with extension. Total Commander and Nimble Commander do this and I find it useful.

PgUp, PgDn, Home and End keys should move the cursor, not just the view. This is more compatible with how other file commanders work.

Place the cursor on the ".." item after entering a directory

When you enter a directory, the cursor should be on the ".." item, not on the next item. I understand some people prefer the commander not to behave like this, but I would appreciate if it could be at least configurable, as every commander I've ever used behaved this way. It's a small thing but it's driving me insane.

ZenOS should have a custom list of favorite directories. It would be ideal if it could behave the same as Total Commander - i.e. I press Ctrl+D (or Cmd+D) to display the list, then press an assigned letter to directly navigate to the directory.

Browse archive files as directories

ZenOS should be able to browse archive files as directories. At least zip files; ideally also some of the more popular alternatives: rar, 7z, tgz, etc.

Additional improvement: ZenOS should be able to browse archive files with other extensions. For example jar files or docx files are in fact zip files - it would be nice if ZenOS could browse their contents.

Theme: light theme

Besides the ZenOS Commander default dark theme offer also a light theme.

It would be also nice if there is an option to automatically switch the dark and light themes based on current settings in the new macOS Mojave Dark Mode.

System supported macOS X Spotlight search is much faster. This option should be available directly from ZenOS Commander toolbar or using keyboard shortcuts ALT-F7 or CTRL-F or CMD-F.
